To join Boy Scouting, a boy (or girl) does not have to be (or have been) in Cub Scouts. He must be 11 years old, or one who has completed the fifth grade or earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, but is not yet 18 years old.
We meet every Wednesday night from 7:00pm until 8:30pm during the school year. When we have Merit Badge sessions, they start at 6:30pm. We run on the school schedule, so if the schools are closed for a holiday or inclement weather, there will be no meeting that evening.
The Troop meets at the Taunton Elementary School (cafeteria), located at 41 Taunton Drive, Howell, NJ 07731.
The Troop provides a tent and ground tarp for all of the Scouts. The only things a scout needs to bring with him are his personal gear (clothing and toiletries), a sleeping bag, some type of sleeping mat (foam or air), along with a few other minor items such as a headlamp, a flashlight, and a re-useable water bottle.
